Head lice and nits are a significant concern for many schools.

Outbreaks are common; One study in the United Kingdom found nearly 40 per cent of children could get head lice in a given year. If similar rates were applied to Canada, 1.5 million Canadian kids could be affected.

Helping parents to understand the realities – and myths – about head lice is important, as is making sure they are equipped with appropriate information to treat their child's head lice effectively and quickly, helping to get their kids back to school.

This site provides information to help you do just that. Please explore the links on this page to learn more about head lice and speaking with parents and students about the issue.
